One of the modern founders of sociology. And at the same time the constant outsider of the discipline. In 2018 it was 100 years ago that the German sociologist Georg Simmel (1858-1918) died. Nonetheless, his analyses of modern society still stand as fresh and relevant in their originality today. The book has two parts: 15 texts by Simmel and ten articles about his sociology.
The book is edited by Søren Christensen, Nils Gunder Hansen, Simon Langkjær, Martin Hauberg-Lund Laugesen og Joachim Wiewiura.
Joachim Wiewiura and Martin Hauberg-Lund Laugesen wrote a chapter to the second part of the book: "Simmel and dialectics: On Simmel's thought and the internal unrest of the forms of sociology."
